Forged cancels on ANHCo stamps

Forged Vila cancel on a 5c and 25c NC & a 1911/12 French 5 Fr. stamp. (Klinger & Goron coll.)

A couple of snippets made from "Buess covers" - I suppose genuine cancels used on hundreds of covers, maybe produced much later than 1910-11. (all Goron coll.)

The Alavoine Fake ("Mele", Klinger & Ruecker coll.)

A certain Alavoine of Sydney manufactured a forged cancel of PCH type 5 before WW II.
Stamps cancelled with it were sold by a dealer. Final research still pending: indication is provided that this Alavoine had been in Nouméa in earlier years and could have been involved in the production of the SFNH "stamps".

Alavoine fake at left, two genuine ones at right. The best criteria to identify the fake are the malformed P of "PORT", the out of the circle dash left of the S of "HEBRIDES" and the date "16 NOV 11".
