The covers above are all cancelled at Papeete with the slogan postmark "VOIR TAHITI ET Y VIVRE" (See Tahiti and live there).
This is how the cancel looked in 1938: →
21 * means full hour else the is a "30" for half hours: 8 30.

I think that at the end of 1938 or in 1939 the hour/half-hour slug was replaced by an asterisk only and
then this was omitted too. The Papeete postmarks on these Coulthard covers are very hard to read and as far as
I can see all are missing an hour/half-hour slug or the asterisk slug.

He lists one other cover (we are searching the image, please help!): to Coulthard himself in Modesto.
