1921 provisional 5c on 40c split overprint, Goyns-Klinger type PM4 cds.
Postcard with C.F.N.H. ( or Ballande) interisland ship Pervenche, replaced in 1926
by the interisland ship Le Néo Hébridais which was twice the size. The
captain of the Pervenche was Mr. Benebie who is buried in Port Vila. (Merot coll.)
The pervenche (ex Saturn) had been built in Stettin, Germany, in 1883 and had a compound steam engine
with 36 nhp. The first South Sea owner was Louis de Pons in Nouméa.
